Truth about our existance

Yesterday I was watching and interview and the interviewee, a celebrity used the word 'fluid' to describe humans and their existance. I felt that was the most appropriate way one could decribe our lives. We take shape of the role we play. After years of assuming shapes expected by people around us we tend to forget who we are. Somewhere down the road there is nothing that describes us 'Exclusive'.

Life ofcourse would be meaningless without the people around us and I am not complaining. If not for them we would lead a totally shapeless life. I am just thinking aloud about what happens gradually with our lives as we pass eachday making everyone around us happy. Life is good and I could not whine but there was always a missing aspect that we all try to put a finger on but are never able to figure out what it is. The missing aspect could be best described as 'a lack of shape of our own'.

On a positive note being 'fluid' is less painful than being 'play dough';-)

Shruti that is such a realistic assumption ;) We,including myself, are so involved in living up to expectations of others that we often forget about I, me, myself quotient. Call it abundance of insecurities surroundin us or sheer quest to remain one amongst the crowd…often, our behavior is driven by not what gives us a kick but what wud make others accept us. Fact remains we still cannot runaway from thyself but cannot even shun dual reflections of ourselves.

Is'nt that how you can attribute everything around you to be like? Say your dreams, your passions for the time, your friends, your family, your love life, your married life etc etc?

Annie, so rightly spotted the lifestyle in India these days - Live for others and abundance of inferiority complexes within us. However, you look at it, what you rightly wrote and said is so true.

And the human mind will always crave for more and in however safe environment we would still want that extra little comfort. if not we will bitch around and then obviously no uniqueness to the way you are, you want etc. For instance, a person is advised not to grow long hairs if he wants Indian women to like him. *You know who I am talking about ;) *

But the fact is we have gotten so used to living for others that it has become a law now. However, for the moment I chose to be myself and I remain the way I am. End of the day it is the choice you are willing to make that will differentiate you from being the water through the hand or the dough you are trying to fix !

i'd be "fluid" only 4 da ppl i care 4 and who care 4 me.....
let da rest call me names ....it doesnt matter...
coz water is always pure..its just the things around it which make it dirty

@annie- This war between the real me and the 'supposed to be' me is sad but ya we keep the 'real me' alive at any cost..thats what is the good aspect:-)

@abhi- There is no giving up abhi...we will never give up..thats what makes us what we are..we will never and should never let ourselves lose.

@Vik- There are times when I think I should rebel too and be myself, Vik but then I dont knowing I will hurt my loved ones by rebelling against their expectations of me. Growing hair is kool:-) it hurts no one and infact it looks good on you;-).. but things that we think our loved ones cannot take we tend to sacrifice. Thia happens again and again and thats when it starts to hurt us.

@cold and silent- Its not about pure or dirty. Its about being what people want us to be and as u said we do that for the people we care about and my point is that their expectations are capable of bringing and end to the 'real me'.BTW U have got a neat blog.:-)

sometimes I feel feeling fluid, gives the power away to the container to shape us, it should be the other way round right?. life the fluid and us the container..
but then sometimes I feel totally opposite, more like the river is what we ought to be, let the nature decide where to flow next..

hey thanks for visiting my blog
